What is the Sports Premium?

Since March 2013, the government has been providing additional funding to improve provision of Physical Education (PE) and Sport in England's primary schools. This gives pupils the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and motivation to develop a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in exercise.

Key objectives:

• Engage all pupils in regular physical activity - kick-starting healthy active lifestyles.
• Raising the profile of PE and sport to further improve the school as a whole.
• Increase the confidence, knowledge and skills of all PE and Sport teachers.
• Broaden the range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.
• Increase pupil participation in competitive sports.
